in my opinion, to all "British Companies carrying

on business in China,

I was unwilling to accede to Mr. Kennett's

arguments without a reference to the llome Authorities

as Mr. Kemett's contention applie s not only to

the British American Tobacco Co. Limited but to all

other "British Companies" now or hereafter carrying

on business in China which do not come within the

definition in the crder in Council of "China Company"

or of a "Hongkong Company”.
